GAIA is an outdoor beacon lamp designed by Yembara Studio for Faro Barcelona, conceived as a sculptural concrete sphere partially revealed through light and shadow. Its organic geometry integrates naturally into landscaped environments while the concealed light source produces a soft, glare-free illumination with strong visual comfort. The textured grey concrete finish gives the piece an architectural presence that reads differently by day and night

GAIA — Outdoor Beacon Lamp by Yembara Studio (Faro Barcelona)

GAIA approaches outdoor lighting as a sculptural intervention rather than a conventional beacon. The spherical concrete form appears partially concealed, creating a deliberate tension between exposed mass and hidden illumination. The integrated light source remains visually protected inside the structure, allowing the glow to diffuse softly outward without glare. In landscape projects, we value pieces like this for their ability to introduce atmosphere without visual clutter. The raw mineral texture of the grey concrete reinforces the architectural quality of the object while the curved silhouette softens exterior environments that rely heavily on rectilinear forms and hard surfaces.

In our projects at HBellorín, we use outdoor pieces like GAIA in gardens, pathway transitions, and terrace edges where lighting should feel integrated into the landscape rather than mechanically added afterward. The concealed warm light creates a restrained halo effect that works especially well in contemporary Budapest villas with stone paving, gravel paths, and planted outdoor areas. Because the fixture remains glare-free, it performs comfortably near seating zones and circulation routes. We also value its sculptural presence during daylight hours, where the concrete sphere reads almost as a landscape object rather than a visible luminaire.

GAIA was designed by Yembara Studio for Faro Barcelona as part of the brand’s contemporary outdoor lighting collections focused on architectural integration and material presence. The project explores the contrast between illumination and shadow through a minimal spherical geometry inspired by celestial forms. Its partially concealed light source recalls the visual effect of the moon’s hidden side, allowing the object to transform perceptually between day and night while maintaining a restrained architectural language suited to modern exterior spaces.

At Bazziko, we selected GAIA for its ability to function simultaneously as landscape lighting and outdoor sculpture. This is the kind of piece we value in exterior projects where visual calm matters as much as technical performance. The concealed warm light, durable concrete body, and restrained form allow it to integrate naturally into architectural gardens and contemporary terraces without creating harsh light pollution.
